Chris has taught English and creative writing for more than a decade, and has worked with students from ages fourteen to eighty-four.

As a Jones Lecturer at Stanford he taught creative writing courses in fiction, creative nonfiction, and screenwriting. At Cornell he taught multi-genre introductory workshops, English classes focused on short stories and mystery narratives, and first-year writing seminars.

He has also taught for Ellipsis Writing, Stanford Continuing Studies, and in summer programs for the Knight Institute at Cornell and the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Astana, Kazakhstan.

He currently serves as the Visiting Assistant Professor of Fiction and Nonfiction at the University of Idaho. In the fall he will join the Department of English and MFA program as permanent teaching faculty at UI.
