Chris has taught English and creative writing for more than a decade, and has worked with students from ages fourteen to seventy-four.

As a Jones Lecturer at Stanford he taught creative writing courses in fiction, creative nonfiction, and screenwriting. At Cornell he taught multi-genre introductory workshops, English classes focused on short stories and mystery narratives, and first-year writing seminars.

He has also taught for Ellipsis Writing, Stanford Continuing Studies, and in summer programs for the Knight Institute at Cornell and the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.
