Spider Boy

April 12, 2013

“My car in an open panel. No borders, no background or environment. Just the Baltic blue compact sitting in white space, cracked taillight and “Wham! Pow!” decals in the corner of the back window. A down shot, driver unseen, long shadows suggesting late afternoon. The entire world spinning inside that cabin, but invisible behind the dark windows. I would vote for no caption but, hey, I’m just the artist.”

“Spider Boy” was published in the Spring 2013 issue of the Mid-American Review. It features offscreen defenestration, a dinosaur with a chicken head, and a goofy three-year-old.
